The olive landscape

Olive tree landscape by Tim IrvingI took this photograph on the drive back from Granada airport last night. All of those green bushes are olive trees and the big tree on the hill is an old oak.

This landscape of rolling hills and olive trees is common across Spain, and to a lesser extent Italy, which are the two biggest olive oil producers in the world.

I like the look of it, reminds me of embroidery.

  1. I'd like to experience picking olives and grapes by hand. Un de ces jours...

  2. What a beauteous sight to come home to. And you're right about the embroidery effect. It looks like rows of French knots or the pulled cotton tufts on a chenille bedspread.
