Gypsy girls

Gypsy Girls. Photograph by Tim IrvingGypsy girls hurrying to the dance

It's getting hot here!

The temperature in Granada yesterday was 36 degrees and a little humid. The last time I felt so uncomfortable was afternoon shopping at a Bangkok street market.

My trip to Granada was worth the effort, I took a few photographs of the annual Feria and saw some amazing horses and riders. As I was leaving the feria ground, these two girls were excitedly running towards the entertainment.

As you can see, travellers from all over Spain move lock, stock and barrel to the showground for the week. It's an exciting event!

The fiesta season begins

flamenco dancers, photograph by Tim IrvingFrom now until September there will be a fiesta every weekend in my region of Spain. Fireworks, paella, music, singing, and of course flamenco dancing.

This is my first fiesta photo of the year. There will be many more to come.

House painting with Rosario

Rosario painting, photograph by Tim IrvingI took this photograph at 8.30 this morning.

This is my neighbour Rosario, 84 years old, painting her house before the village fiesta next week. This is an annual ritual for all villagers. I love the improvised brush extension.
