Goodbye Irving Penn

Photograph by Irving Penn
Irving Penn, who photographed celebrities, indigenous people, and still lifes, amongst many other subjects - for Vogue, has died, aged 92.

The photographs of Irving Penn have enriched my life since I first discovered them. He had enormous talent and was one of a handful of artists whose work I will always return to for inspiration.
So goodbye Irving Penn, I'll miss you.

  1. I'm so sorry to hear that. I hadn't consciously viewed his pictures before, but after researching a bit I see that they were quote beautiful. How sad to lose an artist in this world where we need them desperately. Good luck with your work- maybe you'll be the next Penn.

  3. Oh, just the BEST portraits. So sorry for his passing, but glad he lived such a long time and was able to capture so many phases of history.
