Sparrow Salvage Design
I love the items from Sparrow Salvage and I love the mind that created them. All very gothic and strange.
This is the first verse of a poem used to describe the collage above:
If I were a king I wouldn't be seen
sitting high on a throne with a beautiful queen
If I were a king I'd not be caught dead
living any of my life outside of the bed!

Ah, this is something I'm very much in to. Her design and the spirit of the piece is wonderful and I WILL go check out her site. I started getting very interested in collage when some friends started teaching me about altered books and altered art in 2005. It's immensely satisfying and is a very intuitive way to create. I took a mixed media course at the college last autumn and am taking it again this year (for credit in order to keep the fire lit under me). It is a perfect opportunity to employ collage, plus I've been introduced to collage artists from the 50's and 60's through this course. I'll be dinking around with collage for a long time because the possibilities are endless, especially when you use found items and recycle things, which is my preference.
