Help me identify this icon

As part of my clear out, I want to sell this icon. It's a little subtle for me and I've never displayed it. I bought it from an antique dealer in Crete about 12 years but I don't know a lot about it.Icon photograph by Tim Irving

For many years the island of Crete was one of several routes for migrants trying to get to the west from countries like Yugoslavia, Hungary, Rumania, Albania and other communist regimes.

The migrants couldn't bring money to the west but they did bring family heirlooms and small artworks to turn into cash.

  1. So I wonder if you ever found out? Even if you didn't, I bet it sold easily.
