Old postcards from Paris and around the world

Today I'm listing my old postcards on Etsy
I've been buying them over the years simply because they are beautiful, but they've been kept in the dark and only occasionally looked at. I'm always amazed at the variety of subjects and people that end up on a postcard, mine range from oddities like the one above - a little girl holding a fish(?!) to the one below - strange looking camp men holding very heavy sacks!!

They are all genuine and original. Some, like the one above are hand colored. Because they are over 100 years old there are no copyright restrictions on use.

I'll be sorry to see them go but I have to make space. If you want one - be quick as I've priced them to sell, and with free shipping worldwide too!

My desert island disc - Number 7

I grew up in the 1960's, with a black and white television and programmes that started at 4.50pm on weekday afternoons. I'd rush home from school, switch the telly on and wait ages for it to warm up and for the picture to appear - it's true!

When the picture finaly appeared on the TV, I became mesmerised for one hour, which is how long childrens TV programmes were broadcast for each day. A few of the TV programs I saw were from Europe, they had terrible middle class English voice overs, but I never noticed at the time. They were quite magical and introduced me to several exotic European countries.

One of my big favourites was 'Belle and Sebastien' from 1968. The story was about a small boy named Sebastien who befriended Belle, a white dog, who roamed the mountains of the French Alps.

So Disc Number 7 is the theme from 'Belle and Sebastein'. It's less than a minute long, have a listen.
