Parisian fashion for dogs

Dog dressOne evening years ago when I was very bored and a little drunk, I carved a hat out of half a melon for my dog, it even had holes for his ears. It didn't do the dog any favours.

If you want your dog to stand out from the crowd then this little number is a must.
It's from Mon Ami Vie a Paris based designer who re-cycles and re-uses anything that comes to hand. Besides the dog dress, there are some ingenious ideas and clever designs, well worth a look.

The dog looks like it's enjoying itself.

Flamenco dancing

Flamenco dancer. Photograph by Tim IrvingThe flamenco season starts with a bang here in Andalucia and will continue over the summer. I'll take my little camera along with me whenever I go to an event, and take a few snaps for you.

These photographs are from last year. The top photograph is a performance of contemporary flamenco based on a Lorca poem. Notice the lightweight dresses.

The black and white images are of a more traditional dancer, they were taken at about 2am on a hot night. These traditional dresses weigh a ton and I'm always amazed at the stamina of these dancers.
