Rummage Sale

I've always been a collector of something or other and in the past my house always had room for another teapot or picture or a stupidly large carving of Ganesh, but not anymore. It must be an age thing but about two years ago I started to get rid of items I don't use, I don't even keep books, once I've read them I give them away, ha ha goody me!

So on Sunday I tested my resolve and spent the morning wandering around a Spanish rummage sale. I'll do a post in the near future on buying antiques in Europe, but for the time being have a look at some of the items for sale. The sellers came from France, Portugal and Spain, and would you believe it, two American sellers. The items for sale came from all over Europe, and a little beyond.

As you can see you could buy anything from a toy car to the contents of a church. Prices were all over the place but everyone was happy to haggle and there were plenty of bargains. Click on the image to enlarge it.

Did I buy anything? Yes I did, but it's a secret.

  1. Oh, good for you, "Goodie-Two-Boots." I've not yet reached your state of grace when it comes to yard sales, flea markets, and thrift stores. About 4 years ago our hot water heater flooded a good part of the house, and for some reason that sparked in me a desire to clean out. And I did. Lots. But new things are slowly creeping back in. I will say I'm a much more discrimnating pack rat these days though. Would love to do a flea market crawl in Europe. So, good luck to you with all that!
