I've had my eye on these little beauties for the past week, and this morning they became ripe enough for me to pick. Getting the first fig of the year is a tough business, I'm competing with several elderly widows who walk earlier than me and beat me to it every year - but not today! They're my first figs of the year and for the next few weeks I'll stuff myself with them while walking my dog Eddie.

Oh how I love figs! Just made an incredibly simple dessert last night - sliced ripe figs, a spoonful of fromage blanc, bits of walnuts, and drizzled honey on top! HEAVEN!
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful photograph! Of course, I adore eating fresh figs, so that makes it even better. :)

Fresh figs are indescribable, and so unlike their dried selves. Nice photo of a sensuous fruit.
